I didn’t plan to write poems.They showed up anyway—like rain on a clear day, like guests who knock and say, “You invited us, remember?”At first, I argued. Then I laughed. Then I wrote them down.This is my third collection. I still don’t know exactly what I’m doing, but the words seem to enjoy the ride, so I let them stay. Some came in dreams, others while chopping onions, and a few arrived in waiting rooms pretending to be something else entirely.These poems are small spells, stray sparks, half-remembered songs.
