Olive Wood Jesus Fish Wall Hanging

This fish wall hanging is hand-carved from one solid piece of olive wood.  A cross is carved in the middle and "Jesus" is carved into the wood below the cross. It has a small i-hook for hanging.  The beautiful grains of the olive wood add to its beauty!

The symbol of the fish has been associated with believers for centuries.  It is believed it was used as a secret code scratched into the doorposts of homes to let other believers know that believers lived there.  The Greek word for fish is "Ichthus."

Olive wood products come only from the trimmings of olive trees, which is an essential process for the healthy and proper growth of the trees.  This promotes environmental sustainability. The olive wood is then dried and cured before it is used for carving.  Every piece is different and unique.
