Black Diamond Rotor

A big wall haul swivel designed to eliminate the rope twisting that occurs when a loaded haul bag spins during free-hanging hauls on multi-pitch aid routes, the Rotor from Black Diamond uses aluminum construction with enclosed bearings that allow the bag to rotate without transferring that rotation back into the haul line. Twist accumulation over 200 feet of rope under haul-bag load is a consistent problem on free-hanging pitches — the Rotor addresses it by decoupling the bag's rotation from the line entirely. Triple carabiner attachment points at each end of the Rotor allow connection to both the haul anchor and the haul bag in a single clip-in sequence, and the enclosed bearing design runs without maintenance under the grit and moisture typical of big wall environments. The aluminum body with enclosed bearings and triple carabiner clip-in points at both ends positions the Rotor as the dedicated anti-twist swivel for aid climbers hauling heavy loads on free-hanging pitches where pig rotation is a consistent problem.
